About the author

Terry Goodkind is a #1 New York Times Bestselling Author and creator of the critically acclaimed masterwork, ‘The Sword of Truth’. He has written 30+ major, bestselling novels, has been published in more than 20 languages world-wide, and has sold more than 26 Million books.
‘The Sword of Truth’ is a revered literary tour de force, comprised of 17 volumes, borne from over 25 years of dedicated writing. Terry Goodkind's brilliant books are character-driven stories, with a focus on the complexity of the human psyche. Goodkind has an uncanny grasp for crafting compelling stories about people like you and me, trapped in terrifying situations. With masterful storytelling, Goodkind brings us into the lives of his characters; characters that must rise to face not only challenges, but their deepest fears. For that reason, Goodkind’s characters speak to the best and worst in all of us.
While ‘The Sword of Truth’ series is confirmation enough of Goodkind’s incredible storytelling abilities, his broad talents are also clearly evident in his contemporary novels, set within our own world. His post-‘Sword of Truth’ books are a thrilling, dizzying, mix of modern narrative, with every bit of Goodkind’s masterful voice intact. The bond built between the reader and one of the world’s great authors, rises above worlds and settings, mere backdrops for Goodkind’s uniquely intricate stories of life, love, challenge, and triumph.
"My privilege in life is the joy of writing books and telling stories about people who fascinate me, the good and the bad. I am grateful to all of my readers for the critical role they play in making these books possible. Your passion is my passion, and I thank you." - Terry Goodkind

- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2019If you've read the series then you know they always talk about the gift and what not, but this book provides a "counter" to the gift which in my opinion was very interesting. I don't want to give too much away but it's worth a read. Yes Goodkind repeats a lot, but just skim through the parts you've heard before or know. I found Jensen annoying but bearable. Richard and Khalan doesn't appear until the end! It always interesting to read about Darken Rahl's male offspring and why they are so accustomed to doing evil things (ex. Drefen).
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2001Before I received my book, I read the reviews that some readers had already posted. I was amazed they could have read it within a day of publication but who cares. I was thus afraid that the book would be as bad as Soul of fire which I detested. True, Richard and Kahlan are not in it, but it starts completely differently from Soul of Fire. At least, T. Goodkind didn't start off with them getting our mouth wattered beccause they are in trouble and then leave them to their own devices for nearly 300 pages like in Soul of Fire.
Here, we have like some reviewers said a side story. True I loved the series because the main characters are lovable, but I also liked it because of the new perspective with the Imperial Order.
Like in Faith of the Fallen, we see what the Order is doing, we know Sebastian is a problem but we don't really know what is wrong with him. everything he preaches seemed wrong and I definitely wanted to smack Jenssenn for listining to such lies but at least we saw how people's mind work, how they would refuse what the order offers because it is slavery. We see how Richard affected D'Hara's people by changing it all for them and how they support him while most haven't even seen him.
I was a bit disappointed not to read more of the other main characters like Adie or Zedd or the two prelates but I'm sure they'll be back in the next novel, hopefully they will along with the magic that has been missing for the past two books. Richard must definitely start to use it again!!!! and I'd like to see all the magical beings again, the slyph, the dragons and of course we need to see more of nathan and the others.
I hope that Jensenn is not just a passing-by character because if she is, then that book would be useless. I hope being who she is, she will be a definite addition to the characters:)
If you buy this book and expect to see the same plotline as the past 6 novels, then you're in for a big disappointment but if on the other hand you read it nearly as a side story that still completes the series then you will not be disappointed. I actually liked it because Goodking change the usual plotiline he's been using. Richard and Kahlan reunited, big trouble, then they get separated to be reunited again. That was getting tiresome, afterall. But I wouldn't mind if Goodkind got back to the original storyline with a slight change being these two sticking together for once!
IT is a good book and i'm not spoiling it for you but you will be very happy at one point in the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2014You offered for 3.98 to add the narrated version of the pillars of creation, however I am angered that it went to a 3rd tablet and not the 2nd tablet that I placed the book order on theoffer was made after buying the book and so I thought itwas a great deal but Iit did not go tomy 2nd tablet, it went to a tablet that I have not used for a while the audio narrative did not the boo I have the book. I want to listen to it also because of your offer. I would like toget the 3.98 reimbursed to my account and if not then put it as a credit to use at my convience. My bank card is being changed because of so much fraudulent activites from certain subscriptions that they wont stop charging me for business I have asked politely for them to end my services and stope charging me. I am not speaking of you all you have been real good to me and my needs, however it feels like I just got stolen from again, so please dont take away my book just make it to where I cand hear it, like your promotion said since I bought the book for 3.98 more I would be able to listen to is as well, but they did not put them together the book is on my tablet I use all the time known as the second tablet. Yet the audio pard went to the 3rd tablet which has been broken for months. Please as a courtesy to me a loyal customer if you cannot reimburse me then could you give me credit for the inconvenience? I tried to do it again but it kept saying that I had to pay again for the book but the price went way up to 14.95. As you can see I spen a lot of money today. I am glad I paid attention or I might have done it with all 5 purchases. Yet I dont know if it went throught the 2nd time on 2nd tablet because like I said they sent wispersinc to 3rd tablet not second so I tried to get the deal fixed.please look into this matter I am changing my card in a few days because my account has been compromised for a few months now, because of overdrive pro wont stop charging me 20 dollars a month for services I dont use and I called them and texted them and went to there sight and demanded that they discontinue my services, but they won. Please I implore you give me credit for this blunder you sight has made if I order my book on tablet 2 why whould your websight get confused and use a totally different tablet to send the wispersinc to??? Sorry for taking up a lot of time from writing so long. I am not mad you all have been reall good to buy through, and promt. I never thought your system would have been likely to be a problem. Have a nice day, god bless you, and blessed be.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cover picture in listing is not the cover you receive
Bought this listing specifically because it showed the black bordered cover. Got a completely different one with a green spine. Book's fine though even if it doesn't match the rest

4.0 out of 5 stars Super série de livres

5.0 out of 5 stars Terry Goodkind wird nie langweilig!
Glatte 5 Sterne!!!
