Beloved for her wry yet warm look at family life, Erma Bombeck was America's favorite humorist at the time of her death in 1996. Ten of her 13 books, including Forever, Erma, appeared on the New York Times best-seller list. She claimed her first fiction writing was the weather forecast in the Dayton Herald. - Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2024The book is a classic. The printing quality is so-so. Not as noticeable in the text, but the illustrations at the beginning of each chapter are really poor quality and can’t be made out.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2019I bought this to read to my elderly clients. They remember her and the famous people referenced in her stories. Lots of funny stuff!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2021I had heard of Emma Bombeck over the years but had not read her work until now. I generally get my reading done while taking a bubble bath. My neighbor probably knows I'm crazy for all of the howls of laughter she heard. It would be a disservice for you to pass up this book. She was relevant then and forever. Thank you, Erma. You're a real treasure!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2018I have the Kindle version of this book. I still get a kick out of Erma Bombeck's writing! The Kindle version is good and is actually complete. On occasion it seemed like a page was missing. However, I skipped ahead a couple of pages or back a couple of pages and when I went to where I left off again, the "missing" page would then be there. A minor inconvenience though.

Erma has never failed to surprise her I am a big fan of her books- her book on family ties didn't leave an instance to bring smile and sometimes even lol on my face. Erma knows how to put everyday life together and then hit it hard.
